Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun. It is a Gas Giant, which means that it is not possible to establish an outpost directly on the surface. Jupiter is the first of the outer planets and is named for the king of the Roman Gods. It is the largest of all the planets and Earth could fit inside of it more than 1,000 times. The "Great Red Spot" on Jupiter is a mass of hurricanes that are larger than planet Earth. Being made of gasses there is no solid surface to Jupiter. Jupiter has the most active volcanic activity in the Solar System.

Sending astronauts to the Jupiter system requires either a level 10 Bullet Mk I, or a higher lander type. The necessary level of Chemical Efficiency depends on the specific moon being targeted, with Lysithea being the smallest and cheapest.
